I miss my husband

The company Andy works for has been working out of 3 separate warehouses for at least the past year, and they finally got a new and much larger warehouse built so that they can operate out of only one warehouse. For the past 3 weeks they have been building their office within the new warehouse on their own. So Andy and the rest of the guys have been putting in lots of extra hours to get this done. It was okay for the first week or so...but I would really like to see my husband sometime! I am so thankful that they are almost finished. Today, they are moving all the materials over to the new place while one of the guys finishes hanging all the trim in the office. I went up there three nights this week. One night I helped lay the hardwood flooring and the other two nights I painted trim and cleaned adhesive off of the floor. Hopefully they will be finished with the overtime work after this weekend. I will go take pictures when they are finished. It looks so good!

I worked in the flowerbeds last Saturday. I spent the Home Depot gift card I got for my bday from the people at work...and then some more buying plants. We needed lots of plants, but it is crazy how much they add up to. So I spent most of the day playing in the mud planting flowers and our new weeping redbud. I don't remember ever seeing one before, but it looks pretty cool even though it is small. Hopefully it will grow a lot before it blooms next year. We still need more plants, as you can see from the picture...and we need some of the small ones to hurry up and grow, but it's a start! And we need grass in the backyard so Yoda will quit turning into a red and brown dog when we let him outside.

Monday I went to Owasso to see Mom, Dad, Mike, Ame, and Parker. I only stayed for the day, but I got to play with Parker and I took Mom her birthday present. Here are some more pictures of Parker. He took a good nap with his favorite aunt.
I talked to my mom today and she said that their dog Maggie is sick. Her white cell count is up and some of her liver enzymes are a little bit off. They put her on antibiotics for a week to see if that helps, then they will go from there. Poor puppy.

I am bored today since Andy is working. I am trying NOT to go shopping because I really don't need anything. All there is to do at the house is laundry and vacuum and we all know that isn't any fun.

Michael Parker Haws

Here are my most recent pictures of Parker. My parents have been watching him a couple afternoons a week while Mike and Ame are both working. This is Parker asleep on the porch swing on Grandma's lap.

Kansas City

We went to KC this weekend to see Seth and Libby and the boys. We drove after work on Friday and got to the hotel a little before midnight. Josh, Sara, Luke and Jake were already there so we unloaded the car and I went straight to bed. Poor Luke has to stay in the room with old geezer me who can hardly stay up past 10 anymore. We got up on Saturday and headed over to Libby's sister Audrey's house. It is the cutest house with a cool arched front door. We hung out for a little bit then headed to the hotel where Seth and the team were staying to meet for lunch. Unfortunately, Cal Baptist lost their first game in the tourney so Seth had to head back with the team on Saturday. He had to leave for the airport straight from the restaurant so the rest of us headed to do some shopping. We dropped the guys off at Cabelas and the girls and Kannon headed to Legends to shop. Momma Sara bought some clothes for Jake and I got 2 pairs of great shoes with my bday money (Thanks Mom and Dad Froese!!) We spent the rest of the evening watching basketball at Audrey's house. Sunday morning we went to say bye to Seth, Libby, Noah, and Kannon before they headed to church. Andy, Luke, Josh, Sara, Jake and I went to the Plaza and ate lunch/brunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Then we headed back to OKC. It was a lot of driving for a short weekend, but it was great to see the Cali Froeses. Luke came home with us for spring break. We are trying to let him sleep in a little, but Andy is putting him to work at the warehouse too. Hopefully this new warehouse will be done soon so we can start on the floors in our house!!

Rock Chalk Jayhawk

So we went to the Big 12 semifinals yesterday. The first game was K-State vs. KU. It was a good game, and KU ended up winning. It was a lot of fun hearing and learning the KU chants. it made us really want to go to a game at Allen Fieldhouse. The second game was OSU vs. Texas. Being an OU fan generally makes you automatically against Texas, but we were sitting in the midst of some really obnoxious OSU fans. They were the fans that griped about every call whether is was wrong or right, for them or against them. So by the end of the game we were cheering for Texas. Durant was crazy--he scored the first 19 points for Texas.

This morning was dark and rainy and it was really hard to get up...plus the time change last night...but we made it to church. Andy was talking to some of the guys in our class about the games last night and one of them mentioned that he had some extra tickets for the championship game this afternoon. So we went straight from church to change into our KU gear then headed to the game. We parked at Bass Pro because we are cheap and didn't want to pay for parking, so we had to walk a little ways to get to the Ford center. By the time we got there we were pretty soaked from the rain. We met the guy with the tickets and then headed up to our nosebleed (but FREE!) seats. The game started out pretty ugly....KU was down by 20 at one point, but they came back and won the game in overtime!! Woohoo!

Right now Andy is bowling with his bible study "man group" and I am stuck here doing laundry so I will have something to wear to work tomorrow. We are excited about our trip to KC this weekend! Luke is going to come back with us and spend his spring break here. He will probably get bored hanging out with us old people, but we are excited to spend some more time with him. Hopefully we will be able to start tearing up carpet the week he is here too--while we have some free labor :) That is it for now!

Busy week

This week was super crazy busy at work. We saw 208 patients this week. Andy has been working late at their new warehouse trying to get the office set up. I feel like I have hardly seen him this week. We did go to the car show together last night though. They had some really cool muscle cars that Andy drooled over and I thought the cars from 1900-1930 were awesome. I have Tuesdays off so, like always, I spent the day running errands. Yoda and I both got our haircut, but at different places of course. I have still had allergies all week but finally got my voice back yesterday. Yoda kept waking me up last night because a small thunderstorm came through and I guess he doesn't know what to think of thunder. and for some reason, he only thinks he can get up onto our bed on my side....so when he wants up it is me he always wakes up. Tonight Andy is helping some people from our sunday school class move so I am sitting on the couch watching last night's American Idol results show. If you don't watch American Idol, you should. It is so entertaining. I think they keep kicking off the wrong people though!! Tomorrow Andy and I are going to watch the two men's Big 12 Championship semifinal games at the Ford Center. Sadly, OU lost today so we wont get to watch them....but we will get to watch KU! Look for us on tv...we will be in the nosebleed seats! We are going to Kansas city next weekend to see Seth, Libby and boys. Seth's team (California baptist) will be playing there in the NAIA tournament. This is the closest to OK they may be for awhile, so we are going to jump on the opportunity to see them. Any suggestions for things to do in kansas city? Then the next weekend I guess we will get started on our flooring project at home.

My amaryllis is blooming and is so pretty!!And so are my violets! I can't wait for all the flowers outside to start blooming!
Yoda's new haircut. He looks so small without his fluffy hair.

Our first blog

So I have good intentions...I will attempt to update this blog regularly so that friends and family can stay updated on what we have going on. So here is goes....

Saturday was my 25th birthday. I will sum up my birthday celebration:

Lost my voice. Spent most of the day Saturday with 6- 3rd and 4th grade boys. Ate out for 7 meals straight (Friday lunch to Sunday lunch). Got GREAT gifts from Andy (flip flops and jewelry.)
This picture is not from my birthday, but from one of our snow days.
Andy and I are going to put hardwood floors in our house very soon. We have torn down the wood paneling in our living room and retextured and painted the walls (red). We are going to put up crown molding...maybe this week. It is sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. Then we will start what I can only assume will take us months to finish. We will tear out the carpet, tile, and linoleum in our living areas, kitchen, and entry hall. We will have to level the subfloor and then install our beautiful new maple hardwood floors. It will look great when it is finished, but it is going to be a HUGE job. If you wanna come tear out some tile, just let us know!
I guess that is it for now. I will post pictures of the house as we make more changes.

Oh, and you have to have a picture of Yoda.
